In Depth: Right to work

Topic Progress:

The right to work is a human right that is recognized in international human rights law[2]. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that everyone has the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and favorable conditions of work, and to protection against unemployment[1][2]. The right to work is a foundation for the realization of other human rights and for life with dignity[3]. Workers’ rights encompass a large array of human rights from the right to decent work and freedom of association to equal opportunity and protection against discrimination[6]. Some specific rights related to the workplace include health and safety in the workplace and the right to privacy at work[6].
